At External Home Improvements (Fylde & Wyre), we offer conservatories and orangeries with a difference by fitting smart glass as standard.

Also referred to as intelligent glazing, smart glass keeps the heat in during winter and reduces heat in summer. It traps in domestic heating and reduces solar gain, glare and furniture fading UV to create a genuine all year round usable room.

The smart glass we use also incorporates a self-cleaning coating, allowing rain to wash away dirt and grime easily.

A conservatory or orangery from us therefore offers a less expensive and easier option to extend your home. Giving you a cosy, bright, airy space with a view of the sky and your garden that is usable in all weathers.

Whatever your taste, budget and style of property, we have a conservatory to match. Including Georgian, Victorian, Mediterranean (lean to), p-shape, t-shape, lantern, gable, orangery and more.

A range of colours are available to complement your home and whatever the colour, you can still have white on the inside for that light and airy feel.

All work is completed to current building regulations and guaranteed for 10 years.

Our Approach

At External Home Improvements (Fylde & Wyre), we manage the whole project from design and conception to a completed space ready for you to move into.

No need for you to chase up and manage lots of tradesmen. Groundwork, brickwork, electrics, plastering, installation of uPVC walls and roof, guttering, drainage and more are all covered by one invoice.

To ensure the best results, we install solid foundations, an insulated concrete base, damp proof course and insulated cavity walls as standard.

Upgrading Conservatories

Do you have an existing conservatory? We may be able to re-use some elements of it, rather than replacing it entirely. Great news for the environment and your pocket.

For example, if your existing frames are in good condition, we may simply be able to replace the sealed units with smart glass to upgrade it to a usable space.

We can also replace roofing on existing conservatories where it is rotten, noisy or ineffective at keeping heat in and out. Fitting solid conservatory roofs or better still, smart glass with a view of the sky rather than polycarbonate.

Even where you have a wholly rotten wooden conservatory and roof, if the existing base and dwarf wall are structurally sound, we may be able to build a new conservatory on top.
