Rendering over poor or damaged brickwork can provide an extra layer of defence against the elements and help to prevent further damage, as well as creating a more visually appealing exterior to your property.

Whether you're looking for a smooth contemporary finish or a more traditional pebble-dash (tyrolean) finish, good quality rendering adds value to your home and gives it instant curb appeal.

Adding an exterior wall coating will give up to 20 years protection and can be coloured to add to the wow factor.

From long lasting brilliant whites to subtle pastel shades, a range of colours are available, including bespoke colours to your specification.

Re-rendering / Repairs

If your render is cracked or blown, we can repair it to create a uniform surface, seemlessly blending in with any existing rendering that is in a good state of repair.

Exterior Wall Coatings

Following any rendering, re-render or repairs, we would always recommend finishing with a waterproof, breathable exterior wall coating to prevent the future effects of rain, wind and frost, plus eliminate damp through water ingress.

Our Approach

At External Home Improvements (Fylde & Wyre), we believe if a job is worth doing, it is worth doing well. We aim to work with the best and latest technologies available, using advanced building materials such K Rend GP mortar and HP12 base to produce a long lasting and superbly high quality finish.

Before rendering, the walls are well prepared, including the application of an anti-fungicide treatment prior to applying PVA.

A base (scratch) coat is then keyed to give a rough finish for the top coat to adhere to. The top coat can be completed to a smooth or pebble-dash (tyrolean) finish.

Whatever the finish, the final stage is to then protect the render with our coloured ProPERLA® exterior wall coating.

Guaranteed for 10 years and verified by the Energy Saving Trust, this forms a waterproof, breathable insulation barrier that helps to reduce your energy bills. Keeping the weather out and the warmth in.
